Scindapsus pictus ‘Argyraeus’, also known as Devil’s Ivy or pothos, is a popular and much-loved indoor plant, appreciated both for its decorative appearance and its air-purifying qualities. Presented in a vibrant ELHO Vibes Fold pot in yellow, it brings a lively splash of colour together with elegant greenery, making it a striking feature in any interior.

Native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, Scindapsus grows naturally in warm, humid rainforests. In its natural habitat, it is a climbing plant, using aerial roots to attach itself to trees and other surfaces. This growth habit makes it extremely versatile indoors, where it can be allowed to cascade from shelves or hanging baskets, or trained to climb a trellis or support.

Scindapsus pictus ‘Argyraeus’ is especially admired for its heart-shaped leaves, which are deep green and beautifully decorated with silvery variegated patterns that give them a soft, satin-like sheen. The foliage is evergreen, maintaining its attractive look throughout the year. Flowering indoors is very rare and not ornamental, and the plant is not fragrant and has no spines.

With a current height of around 45 cm and a 14 cm pot diameter, this plant is already well developed and makes an immediate impact. Over time, its trailing or climbing stems can reach 1 to 2 metres in length. It thrives in partial shade or bright, indirect light, adapting well to low-light conditions, which makes it ideal for homes and offices with limited natural sunlight.

Watering should be done about once a week, allowing the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. A well-draining soil mix, such as potting soil combined with perlite, is recommended. During the growing season in spring and summer, fertilising every 2–4 weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser will encourage healthy, vigorous growth. Delivered in an ornamental pot, it is ready to enjoy straight away.

In addition to its visual appeal, Scindapsus is valued for its ability to help purify indoor air, contributing to a fresher and healthier living or working environment. Whether used as a trailing accent or a climbing feature, it brings lasting beauty and natural charm to any indoor space.

Note: Scindapsus is toxic if ingested, so it should be kept out of reach of pets and small children.
