Description
DESCRIPTION: The corollas of these freesias, developed by horticulturists through selection and hybridization, are made up of numerous segments, resulting in heavier blooms with a “full” or so-called “double” appearance. The flower has a funnel shape, is wonderfully fragrant, and features double blossoms on gracefully arching stems. Thanks to its compact height (25–40 cm), it’s ideal for growing in borders, nestled among low-growing flowers, or in pots. The flowers appear in fairly large clusters at the tip of each stem and bloom gradually, ensuring a long flowering period. In addition to the flowering stems, the plant also produces smooth, sword-shaped green leaves.
PACKAGE: The package contains 10 BLUE double-flowered Freesia bulbs; the bulbs have a circumference of 6/8 cm (approximately 2 cm in diameter). The package includes a beautiful illustrative photo, along with information on planting and flowering—making it an excellent gift idea as well.
HOW TO GROW: Plant freesia corms at a slight angle with the tip facing up, about 3 cm deep, either in pots or in the ground. Space each corm around 3-5 cm apart. Freesias prefer light, well-draining soil. Proper drainage is key. Choose a sunny spot, as these flowers thrive in full sun. Plant the corms between September and December for spring flowering (February to May), or from February to May to get flowering between July and September, although the exact timing may vary depending on the variety and climatic conditions.
SELECTION AND QUALITY: The bulbs come with a phytosanitary passport and undergo a strict quality control process to ensure splendid blooms from the first year.
