🌀 Tillandsia caput-medusae – also whimsically known as the Medusa’s Head – is a striking air plant that lives up to its mythical name. With its twisting, tentacle-like leaves and sculptural form, this botanical oddity adds a touch of wild, natural drama to any space, while remaining easy to care for and endlessly fascinating to observe.

🍃 Its foliage is what makes it truly unforgettable. The thick, fleshy leaves curl outward in unpredictable directions, much like the serpentine locks of its namesake. Covered in a soft, silvery fuzz (called trichomes), these leaves help the plant absorb moisture and nutrients directly from the air, giving it a slightly velvety texture and an almost otherworldly appearance.

🌸 When in bloom, Tillandsia caput-medusae puts on a vibrant show: a bold, red to pink floral bract emerges from the center, often giving rise to tubular violet or deep purple flowers.
