🌿 Ceropegia 'Remy': The Slender Trailing Vine

While most Ceropegia varieties feature heart-shaped leaves, the 'Remy' is distinguished by its linear, elongated foliage. This gives the plant a much more delicate and "airy" appearance, making it a perfect choice for modern, minimalist interiors.

✨ Key Features and Appearance

  • Unique Foliage: The leaves are thin, succulent, and sword-shaped, typically featuring a subtle silvery or marbled pattern on a deep green background.

  • Trailing Beauty: Standing at 38 cm in a 14 cm pot, this plant is already well-established with long, graceful vines. It is best displayed in a hanging basket or on a high shelf where its stems can drape downward like a living curtain.

  • Exotic Blooms: Like its relatives, it produces fascinating, lantern-shaped flowers that are often purple or pale pink, adding an extra layer of botanical interest.

☀️ Light and Placement

The 'Remy' is a sun-loving succulent that thrives in bright environments:

  • Exposure: It prefers bright, indirect light. While it can handle some direct morning sun, harsh afternoon rays may scorch the slender leaves.

  • Placement: Position it near a south or west-facing window. If the vines start to look sparse or the leaves lose their variegation, it is usually a sign that the plant needs more light.

💧 Care and Maintenance

Because it is a succulent, the Ceropegia 'Remy' stores water in its leaves and stems, making it very drought-tolerant and easy to care for:

  • Watering: Follow the "soak and dry" method. Water the plant thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry out almost completely before watering again. Overwatering is the most common mistake; when in doubt, it is better to wait a few days.

  • Soil: It requires a well-draining cactus or succulent mix to prevent root rot.

  • Temperature: It enjoys standard room temperatures but should be protected from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.

⚠️ Important Note

The Ceropegia linearis 'Remy' is intended strictly for decorative purposes. It is not edible and should be kept out of reach of pets and children. Fortunately, unlike many other houseplants, most Ceropegia species are generally considered non-toxic, but it is still best to avoid consumption to prevent any digestive upset.
