The Rubus idaeus ‘Malling Promise’ is one of the best-known raspberry varieties, cherished by gardeners for its reliable, sweet, and juicy summer fruit. This self-pollinating raspberry blooms in late spring with inconspicuous white-pink flowers that attract bees and bumblebees, setting the stage for a bountiful harvest. From July onwards, the bright red berries ripen, offering a mild flavour and soft, succulent texture perfect for fresh eating, baking, or making jams and preserves. As a Tasty Green, 100% organically grown plant, only natural plant and animal materials are used during cultivation, making it a wholesome choice for both your garden and the environment. The pot and label are made from recycled plastic, providing an eco-friendly solution.

‘Malling Promise’ forms upright, vigorous canes reaching approximately 1.5 to 2 metres in height, which can be supported with stakes or a small trellis. The foliage is deciduous, turning soft yellow in autumn before dropping, and creates a lush, green backdrop throughout the growing season. The plant carries only a few small thorns, making harvesting straightforward and enjoyable. With proper care, including pruning spent canes after fruiting and regular watering during dry spells, this raspberry will reward gardeners with consistent yields year after year.

Note: Only the fruit is edible; other parts of the plant are not considered safe to eat.
