DESCRIPTION: Anemone 'Mr Fokker' is a captivating variety of Anemone coronaria, celebrated for its vivid, deep blue-purple poppy-like blooms with an elegant dark center. Here are some features and growing tips for this charming anemone. 🌸 Characteristics
The flowers are single, cup-shaped, and velvety in texture, with a rich blue-purple hue and a striking black center. They typically measure 5 to 8 cm in diameter.
Blooming usually occurs in mid to late spring and can last for up to four weeks. In mild climates, with staggered planting, flowering may be extended from late winter to early summer.
The plant grows on sturdy stems that rise above finely divided, fern-like foliage, reaching a height of about 25 to 40 cm. The basal leaves are deeply lobed, resembling parsley, and a small "collar" of leaflets appears just below each bloom. 🌿 Uses and Appeal
Perfect for borders, flower beds, rock gardens, and containers, this anemone also makes an excellent cut flower, offering good vase life. Its vibrant blossoms attract butterflies and bees, while the plant itself is resistant to deer and rabbits. 🌞 Growing and Care
It thrives in full sun, although in very hot summer regions it appreciates some light afternoon shade. The soil should be well-draining—sandy or loamy—with any pH from acidic to neutral or alkaline. Drainage is essential, especially during winter, to avoid bulb rot.
Water regularly during the growing season, keeping the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Once the foliage begins to die back in summer, watering should be reduced and eventually stopped.
Before planting, the small tubers (corms) should be soaked in water for a few hours. Plant them about 5 cm deep and 5–10 cm apart. In mild climates, plant in autumn for spring blooms; in colder zones, wait until spring (after the danger of frost) for summer flowering.
A balanced fertilizer can be applied monthly during the active growth period. To encourage prolonged blooming, remove spent flowers. However, do not cut back the foliage after flowering, as it allows the plant to store energy for the next season.
After blooming, the plant enters a dormant phase. In colder climates (zones 3–6), it’s best to lift and store the corms in a cool, dry place for the winter. In milder areas (zones 7–10), they can remain in the ground year-round.

PACKAGE: The package contains 10 bulbs of Anemone coronaria ‘Mr Fokker'. The bulbs have a circumference of 7/8 cm (about 3 cm in diameter). The packaging features a beautiful illustrative photo and includes planting and flowering information, making it an excellent gift idea.

HOW TO GROW: The tubers have an irregular, generally flattened shape with one convex side. This side should ideally be planted facing downward, but it’s not essential—sprouts will naturally find their correct orientation. Plant the bulbs about 4–5 cm deep in full sun or partial shade, either in pots or directly in the ground. Space them approximately 5–8 cm apart to allow the lush, deeply notched foliage to develop fully. Plant the tubers between September and December. Flowering will occur between February and June.

SELECTION AND QUALITY: The bulbs come with a phytosanitary passport and undergo a strict quality control process to ensure splendid blooms from the first year.
