This beautiful plant is an evergreen perennial, celebrated for its spectacular, almost luminous foliage which provides year-round appeal. The leaves of the 'Silver Compacta' are thick, rigid, and deeply corrugated, giving them a fantastic, tactile texture. They are typically a dark, velvety green to almost black on the upper surface, heavily contrasted by prominent, deeply set, silvery-grey to pale-green veins and a distinct metallic sheen.
