Fresh from the Nursery and Air Purification

These plants are carefully selected and shipped directly from the nursery, having been grown as organically as possible in a greenhouse that utilizes solar energy and geothermal heat.

1. Monstera Deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant)

Your Monstera Deliciosa is rooted in a 21 cm pot and stands at approximately 75 cm (30 inches) tall. This evergreen native of Central America is famous for its large, glossy, deep green leaves that develop natural holes and splits. It has no spines and is not significantly fragrant.

2. Alocasia Zebrina (Zebra Plant)

Your Alocasia Zebrina is rooted in a 19 cm pot and stands at approximately 75 cm (30 inches) tall. This evergreen beauty is known for its large, arrow-shaped green leaves and, most distinctly, its zebra-like patterned stems of black and pale yellow. It has no spines and is not known for a strong fragrance.

3. Strelitzia Nicolai (Giant Bird of Paradise)

Your Strelitzia Nicolai is the tallest plant in the set, rooted in a 19 cm pot and standing at approximately 85 cm (33 inches) tall. This magnificent evergreen features long, broad, paddle-shaped leaves. It has no spines and is not notably fragrant.

Essential Care: Placement, Watering, and Fertilizing

All three of these tropical beauties thrive in a bright, stable environment.

• Placement: Place these houseplants in a bright spot, but try to avoid direct sunlight which can scorch the leaves, though the Strelitzia can tolerate more sun than the others. Crucially, avoid drafts, as these tropical houseplants do not like sudden temperature changes. To ensure even growth, turn the houseplants a little at a time so that they do not grow crooked towards the light source.

• Watering: These houseplants like to get regular sips of water and love a moist soil. Giving them one to two glasses of water every week is generally sufficient, but always check the soil before adding more water.

• Fertilizing: Give the plants some fertilizer twice a month during the growing season (spring and summer). In winter, when growth is slower, fertilizing once every two months is sufficient.

• Flowering: While native flowers are beautiful (white/blue for Strelitzia, edible fruit for Monstera), flowering is very rare for all three when grown indoors.
