You are receiving a Succulent Mix—a collection of 18 individual plants, each at a neat size (Ø8.5cm pot, ↕10cm height). This mix consists of various types of plants commonly known as succulents, including popular genera like Aloe Vera, Crassula, Echeveria, Haworthia, Kalanchoe, and Sedum.

Here is a general overview of this wonderful group of plants, focusing on their shared characteristics and care:

🌿 Foliage, Form, and Appearance

Succulents are defined by their ability to store water in their fleshy leaves, stems, or roots. This large mix means you will enjoy a stunning variety of forms and textures:

  • Aloe Vera & Haworthia: Often feature stiff, upright, or pointed leaves, sometimes with distinct ridges or patterns.

  • Echeveria: Form beautiful, symmetrical, dense rosettes.

  • Crassula & Sedum: Provide variety with stacking, trailing, or small, pebble-like leaves.

  • General Look: Most common succulents in this mix are evergreen, retaining their thick, fleshy foliage year-round. Their forms are typically compact and low-growing. Most do not have sharp, dangerous spines, though some (like certain Aloe species) may have soft, toothy margins.

📏 Size and Growth

Your plants are small and uniform in size (10cm tall), which is ideal for desktop displays, windowsills, or creating a combined succulent garden. Succulents are generally slow-growing, and their compact size will be easy to maintain over time, especially when kept in their current pots.

🌸 Flowering and Fragrance

While succulents are primarily grown for their architectural foliage, they do flower, typically during the growing season (spring/summer).

  • Colour & Period: The colour and shape vary dramatically by type: Kalanchoe is known for bright, long-lasting flower clusters, while Echeveria often produces delicate, bell-shaped blooms on tall stalks.

  • Fragrance: The flowers usually have a subtle or no noticeable fragrance, as their pollination strategies don't heavily rely on scent.

💧 Care and Environment

Caring for this mix is relatively easy because succulents are adapted to tolerate drought, but their water needs are very specific.

  • Placement: Place succulents preferably in a bright location. They need bright light to maintain their compact shape and best colour. The plants may be allowed in direct sun, but note that not all types of succulents can stand this well. It is always safest to transition them to strong sun gradually.

  • Watering: Because succulents store water, they require infrequent watering. During the active growing season, a splash of water once every two weeks is sufficient once the soil is completely dry. In winter, when growth slows dramatically, watering once a month is enough. The key rule is to always let the soil dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.

Note: Given this is a mixed selection, it is crucial to note that many common succulents, particularly certain species of Kalanchoe and the sap of many Aloe species, can be toxic to pets if ingested. For safety, it is best to treat the entire collection as toxic and keep it out of reach of animals and children.
