A dependable climbing vine known for its distinctive double flowers that bring rich color to vertical spaces without taking up much ground area. Perfect for training along trellises, fences, or large patio containers.
Features large, fully double flowers in deep violet-blue, with a dense center of smaller petal-like segments that lighten as the bloom matures.
Climbs by twisting its leaf stalks around supports, producing recurring blooms from late spring into early autumn.
Thrives under the classic rule for clematis: top in full sun to partial shade for best flowering, and roots kept cool and shaded by low-growing companions, mulch, or a flat stone.
Requires rich, well-draining soil kept consistently moist during warm weather. Minimal pruning is needed—simply trim back dead or weak stems in late winter, cutting just above a set of strong buds to encourage fresh spring growth.
Clematis species contain compound irritants that make them toxic to dogs and cats if chewed or ingested. It is best trained on elevated trellises out of reach of pets.
Shipped in custom protective packaging to secure the climbing stems and support structure during transit.
