The Dwarf Mountain Palm is a beloved and classic houseplant, cherished for its graceful, feathery appearance and its excellent adaptability to indoor conditions. It is native to the rainforests of Southern Mexico and Guatemala, where it naturally grows under the canopy.
Foliage: The palm features elegant, feathery fronds with a lush green color. The leaves are generally thin and delicate, giving the plant a soft, tropical look that adds a touch of elegance to any space.
Form: It grows as a compact, clustering palm, maintaining a manageable size indoors, which is why it is called the "Dwarf" or "Parlor" palm. It is an evergreen plant, providing continuous greenery.
Size: This specimen is a perfect size for a desktop or small table, standing at approximately 40 cm (about 15.7 inches) tall and delivered in a 12 cm pot.
While mature plants in ideal conditions may produce small yellowish flower stalks, this is rarely seen indoors. It is not known for a strong fragrance.
This palm is noted as being incredibly easy to care for and requires minimal fuss.
Light: This plant thrives in a spot with half-shadow and indirect sunlight. It must be protected from intense, direct sun, which can easily scorch its delicate fronds.
The Parlor Palm requires consistent moisture. It should be watered regularly, ensuring the soil stays evenly moist but is never left soggy or waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again.
